Volakas
Drama, Greece

Kifisia, Attica · 2024
Worktop, splashback and wall cladding from a single batch of Volakas, the vein carried from the horizontal plane onto the vertical.
The kitchen is small, and that was the brief: it should not read as a series of separate pieces. We selected slabs from a single batch and planned the cuts so the vein continues without interruption from worktop to splashback, and from there onto the full cladding of the side wall.
The sink is undermounted, with a cut radius that lets water run without collecting in the corner. Edges are mitred at 45 degrees so the thickness reads as continuous.
